About Erin

Alongside Erin’s piano training, she took on other musical facets to expand her expertise and interests. Erin is an alum of the Arts Unionville Piano program at Unionville High School. Through this opportunity is where she learned more about collaboration, accompanying, and playing larger piano works with her colleagues. It was also a unique experience to collaborate with the dance, drama, and art disciplines within the school. She continuously participated in concert band, musical theatre, and transitioned to virtual ensembles during pandemic years of 2020-2021.

Marking the end of Erin’s high school career, she contributed to the Music Council, led the musical theatre class in her senior year, and participated in music festivals alongside her peers in the piano program. She received the Ontario Scholar, Bob and Lorna Richardson Music Scholarship, Unionville High School Staff Award, and the Student Council President’s Gavel Award. She also started mentoring younger pianists, assisting them for their RCM exams as a start to a professional teaching gig.

Erin chose to continue her studies at the University of Toronto, as a classical piano major in music education. At acceptance to the program, Erin was a University of Toronto Scholar at the Faculty of Music of 2021, received the Arthur Edward Resell Scholarship in 2022, and received the Stephanie Ali Memorial Scholarship in 2023. She wanted to continue staying involved within the faculty, hence her work through the FMUA (Faculty of Music Undergraduate Association). During her time, she created events for student engagement, attended and organized a Music Education conference for university students to audit, and created liaison between student body and faculty members. Similarly, she worked as FOMO (Faculty of Music Orientation) co-chair and executive for two years to initiate event-planning, welcoming first-years in September, and connecting with students of all years to create a successful orientation week.

Erin was determined and motivated to explore the variety of paths music offered. Thus, it was important that she took a variety of courses that balanced her interests in choral, instrumental, and theoretical knowledge in music. Alongside Erin’s undergraduate studies, she was well-versed in career opportunities where she delved into choral leadership, administrative work, and piano teaching through her own private studio. Music education slowly became a strong passion regardless of the career opportunities given to her, so Erin made it her goal to continue fostering young students to become well-rounded musicians in her teaching. In her third year, she was accepted to the Combined Masters of Teaching Program at OISE (Ontario Institute for Studies in Education) at the University of Toronto.

Piano teaching became a persistent passion for Erin, especially during her undergraduate years. She started building her own community of piano students, where most lessons would be held in her private piano studio. Teaching in her home studio has been rewarding and reciprocal as there has been many opportunities to pay forward toward the local community while also ensuring her work is dedicated at the heart of the students. Erin has made it her own goal to ensure she advocates for student performance experience, and encourages her own students to keep piano playing everyday. Through her piano teaching journey, Erin has helped students play for their own RCM exams and prepared them for year-end piano recitals hosted for public invitation.

As of June 2025, Erin completed her Bachelor in Music with Honours. She also has a minor in English (as a second teachable), certificate in Health Applications in Music and Piano Pedagogy. She is now a teacher candidate at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. The program will bring her to a teaching qualification by June 2027. Erin continues to explore her choral conducting skills by working with a variety of different guest clinicians, choirs, and workshop opportunities. In August 2025, she made her public choral conducting debut with the Ontario Youth Choir (OYC) as one of two Intern Conductors under Jamie Loback in Ottawa. For the 2025-2026 season, Erin was the apprentice conductor at Cantabile Chamber Singers under the leadership of Cheryll Chung. She has also been selected as an assistant conductor for the Coro Choir at Toronto Children’s Chorus (TCC) under the leadership of Zimfira Poloz.

Erin is most passionate about piano teaching for elementary students, choral conducting, and music directing for musical theatre shows. To date, Erin has played for shows like Connections in September 2025, Chess the Musical in March 2026, and Awake and Dreaming in July 2026. She appreciates working collaboratively with current artists and musicians to create a final presentation ready for public entertainment and connection.
